beautiful pink lava erupting in this dreamstate horizon

Miss Juliette had a vet appointment for kitty acupuncture today (FYI- no needles, infrared light is used). It was two weeks since I saw Stan. I wished him a Happy Epiphany. He didn't know what Epiphany was, so I sent him this explanation:

Epiphany is to "Blow your Mind"- The result of a radical different profound higher "Big Picture" perspective; things seeming random, unrelated, or irrational make total sense in a magnificent flash of light. "A-HA"

Epiphany is a Christian feast intended to celebrate the 'shining forth' or revelation of God to mankind in human form, in the person of Jesus. The observance had its origins in the eastern Christian churches, and included the birth of Jesus; the visit of the Wise Men who arrived in Bethlehem; and all of Jesus' childhood events, up to his baptism in the Jordan by John the Baptist. The date of the feast was fixed on January 6. (FYI- When you hear the Xmas carol, "Twelve Days of Christmas", Epiphany is the twelfth day.)

As a feeling, an Epiphany is a sudden realization or comprehension of the essence or meaning of something. The term is used in either a philosophical or literal sense to signify one has "found the last piece of the puzzle and now sees the whole picture," or has new information or experience, often insignificant by itself, that illuminates a deeper or spiritual foundational frame of reference.

Epiphanies have also made possible the existence of technology and the sciences. Famous Epiphanies include Archimedes' realization of how to estimate the volume of a given mass, which inspired him to shout "Eureka!" ("I have found it!")

For the philosopher, Levinas, Epiphany or a manifestation of the divine is seen in another's face, "to see face-to-face"

In traditional and pre-modern cultures, and up until this day, initiation rites and mystery religions have served as vehicles of Epiphany, as well as the arts. The Greek dramatists and poets would induce their audience into a state of catharsis. In modern times the Dadaist Marcel Duchamp and the Pop Artist Andy Warhol invert expectations by presenting commonplace objects as works of fine art, simply by presenting them in a way no one had thought to do before. Everyone's seen Andy's Campbell Soup can paintings. Marcel covered the inside of a teacup with fur!

Now if you didn't know what Epiphany is before, you do now!
